How Long Does A Collision Repair Take?

Getting a clear timeline is always a top priority for our Phoenix customers. To understand how long your collision repair is going to take, it helps to understand the exact steps we take during the repair process.

  7. Sublet Work: We complete any specialized, off-site mechanical work.
  1. ADAS Calibrations: We reset and calibrate your vehicle’s advanced safety sensors.
  1. Test Drive: We road-test the vehicle to ensure it handles safely.
  1. Detailing: We clean the vehicle thoroughly for final quality control.
  1. Quality Control Check: We perform a final inspection before delivery.
  1. Payment Verification: We verify all final approvals and payments from the insurance company.
  1. Delivery: We hand the keys back to you!

Understanding the Timeline Hurdles

Each step in this process is crucial for a high-quality, stress-free repair. While we control most of these steps inside our Phoenix shops, there are a few variables that are out of our hands:

  1. Insurance Approvals: It is difficult to guarantee a definite timeline for insurance companies. In general, approvals take around 48 to 72 hours. However, if local adjusters are shorthanded, that window can increase.
  • Parts Availability: Parts do not have a set timeline. Varying dramatically depending on the year, make, and model of the vehicle being repaired.

How We Calculate Your Repair Time

Once we overcome these hurdles, we can give you an accurate timeline for your repairs. The industry standard in Arizona is to account for five labor hours of work per day. For example, if the total labor hours on your estimate equal 20 hours, the physical repairs will take our team about four working days to complete once we start. We also add an extra day for any necessary sublet work.

If your vehicle is still safe to drive, we can often lower your total repair time by requesting insurance approvals and pre-ordering your parts before you ever drop your car off at our shop.
